Expert Group of Ethical, Privacy & Security experts, dealing with ethical issues and the protection of individual rights. Due to the nature of the project, there is a clear need to address the ethical and legal requirements linked to the privacy and data protection issues, particularly aspects of collection, control, processing, sharing and storage of personal data made available by the passengers.
Cyber-security threats associated to the software supporting these services need also to be considered. It is therefore important that the project will benefit from the advice of external experts on: compliance with the EU privacy and data protection legislation, ethical and societal acceptance, as well as any other aspects that are at stake. The recommendations will concern not only the case of the project, but also the later implementation of these services into real-life environments by Shift2Rail. Experts will have access to all relevant information in order to make recommendations to the benefit of passengers, suppliers and operators/public authorities. A group of approximately 5 experts, is foreseen to accompany the project throughout its lifetime. Indicatively, there will be 5 meetings between the experts and the project partners.
